Useful times article – suggests that the National Trust is courting people who would want to see it preserved as “a living, breathing recording studio.”
That’s very good news.

This would seem to be the best solution to secure Abbey Rd’s future, after all there would be nothing to stop any buyer from selling again & thereby putting Abbey Rd in jeopardy again
Could the National Trust run the studio solely as a commercially viable facility? There might be some mileage in having it as a fully working and creative museum as well as trying to run it commercially. This could help the bottom line and ensure it’s future also and let the public in general have the opportunity to support and see why this building is so important in the firmament of popular culture on a global level. While we’re at it, I’d suggest we get some money back from RBS and nationalise EMI who have obviously shown scant regard and respect for the history of the assets they control.
